Alex Coopers Call Her Daddy Podcast Now Available on All Audio Platforms as Spotify C

Daddy Gang, rejoice! Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” hit interview podcast is now available on all major audio platforms after two and half years exclusively on Spotify.

Full episodes of “Call Her Daddy” have been available only on Spotify since July 2021, under a three-year deal worth more than $60 million. As of this week, the audio-only version of the Cooper-hosted show is now available on Apple Podcasts, iHeartPodcasts, Amazon Music and other services, while Spotify will continue to have exclusive distribution rights to the video version of “Call Her Daddy.”

Spotify, after writing huge checks for exclusive rights to popular podcasts, has shifted its strategy and is now looking to maximize off-platform distribution and monetization with its slate of audio originals. For example, Trevor Noah’s new interview podcast from Spotify Studios launched last fall across multiple platforms. Spotify still has first-run exclusive rights to “The Joe Rogan Experience” — which consistently ranks as its most popular show — but that deal is expiring later in 2024.

“For years now, Daddy Gang has been asking to share their favorite ‘Call Her Daddy’ episodes with friends who aren’t on Spotify,” Cooper said in a statement. “I’m so excited to share the news that my show will now be widely distributed for even more fans to enjoy. Daddy Gang can continue to watch on Spotify, but now listeners can find ‘Call Her Daddy’ wherever they get their podcasts.”

Past episodes of “Call Her Daddy,” which Spotify says has been the No. 1 most-listened-to podcast among women globally on the platform, became available on major audio platforms starting Jan. 30. The first new episode of the show, featuring guest Heidi Klum, was published across audio platforms Wednesday.

“Call Her Daddy” has amassed a huge fanbase thanks to Cooper’s no-holds-barred style to discussing dating, sex, mental health, self-care and other topics. Spotify wrested rights to “Call Her Daddy” from Barstool Sports, where the show originally gained a loyal following.

Celebrity guests on “Call Her Daddy” have included Jane Fonda, Post Malone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Hailey Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Zayn, Christina Aguilera, John Mayer, Paris Hilton, Brazilian pop star Anitta, John Legend, Rebel Wilson, Adam Devine and Chelsea Handler. Among the show’s viral moments: Julia Fox’s appearance (whose pronunciation of “Uncut Gems” became a TikTok sensation), Ariana Madix’s first interview after the revelation of an affair between her boyfriend and one of her closest friends, and Cooper’s interview with con artist Anna Delvey (real name: Anna Sorokin) from prison talking about Netflix’s “Inventing Anna.”

In 2023, Cooper launched Trending, a media company aimed at Gen Z audiences, and its subsidiary, the Unwell Network, alongside her partner and fiancé Matt Kaplan of ACE Entertainment. The Unwell Network’s initial talent signings include creators and influencers Alix Earle and Madeline Argy, with more signings expected to be announced this year. Last year, Cooper inked a deal under which Spotify serves as the ads sales and distribution partner for Unwell Network’s shows.
